Tofu Love Frogs perform at Stokefest

Young and wasted

Thanks to Bev for these photos of the Tofus at the Forest Fair in the Forest of Dean way back when! She’s graciously allowed me to post these on the website here so that you won’t need to login to the evil spawn of satan* myspace to view them.

*Well I reckon it is anyway :D

Now that was a PROPER festival. Despite the abundance of mud, i would say this is still in my top ten festivals of all time, maybe top 5 even.

Try telling kids these days and they just won’t believe what used to go on.

Forest Fayre was the muddiest festie ever – it rained the whole time and loads of people got their vehicles towed out. I think it was 92 or 93. About the only other thing I remember is a certain notorious performer swinging an iron(!) from his nipples and then his knob – it was truly frightening!

Great to see the Frogs back together Paddy – have I got some scary old photos to send you! That’s me with guitar and joint above and it looks like we were avin a big jam in the mud. Love from NZ – Glyn.

Oh my god -I remember this night, we were jamming for free wine- there was a hammer dulcimer- and the guy from the tragics played yellow bird on the accordian. It was like the trenches, yes 1993 sounds right.

    I remember that Festie,
Nic Pedlar (folk hero ) R.I.P. was a major part in making that happen,
I miss him and his events!
Had to get towed off and blew my rear seals in the bus on the way back to zummerset, kept rollin tho , pity the folks who followed me,
Great to see you guys on the webby thing , you are and always were the best!

From looking at these newspaper clippings and having been to most of the Forest Fayres (although I was only a nipper at the time) I can say with fair certitude that ’94 was the VERY muddy year, where it rained non-stop. ’93 rained a bit at the end, ’92 was good weather.
