Words and music by P. Roxburgh. with a little help from Wolfgang Amadaeus Motzart (Eine Kline Nacht MusiC)

This is the tale of Simon Sunderland (aka Fisto) who got a five year prison sentence for grafitti in Sheffield.
His sentence was reduced on appeal, but only after he had spent a year in prison.

This is yet another example of how the state seems to punish people more for trivial offenses (ie. grafitti, supplying soft drugs, organising parties and other useful functions) than for violent assault, rape and even killing. weird innit?

He got five bloody years for writing on a wall.
I got kept behind for an hour once at school
for the same offense, drawing in the wrong place.
I read the paper this morning -what a bloody disgrace.

So I wonder – did you want to make an example your honour?
To think for a minute. did you bother.
that maybe prison just isn’t enough?
Bring back the rope for grafitti. lets get, lets get tough.

In a post war nightmare surrounded by cement,
for trying to brighten it up a bit, should he repent?
I think the proper thing to do would be to give him a grant.
not put him in prison. I really can’t believe it.

If everybody did it. well I grant you that
it might be a problem, but look you twat,
if everyone was a judge, well begging your pardon,
who’d you get to landscape your garden.

Did you want to make a point my friend,
I think you’ll find that in the end.
well maybe grafitti just isn’t enough.
Bring back the rope lor judges, lets get. lets get tough.
